I Promise...

I have not disappeared!  We have been busy around here lately, so I haven't had the chance to really sit down and blog.  I have some new post ideas, but haven't found the time to write them out.

Hopefully before Christmas, but I just don't know.

Hang in there with me, please. ^_^

ImPress Press-On Manicure {Influenster}

ImPress Press-On Manicure: $5.99 for colors, $7.99 for patterns
Introducing the revoluntionary new way to apply polish!  Featuring advanced nail technology, you can get a salon-perfect manicure in second--simply peel off, press on, and you're done.  There's no drying, a killer shine, and a manicure that lasts up to a week.

I was excited to see I received something that had to do with fingernails in my VoxBox!  I was hoping for the stick-on polish, but instead I got press-on nails, which I have never tried before.  My nails are currently too long for me to try them, but I plan to cut my nails down soon and when I do, I am going to give these a try.  I love the pattern.  They are very shiny.  I wasn't sure if they would fit over my nails, but I held them up to my nails and they look like they will work out perfectly (once I cut my nails).

I will post about this product again once I get them on!

College VoxBox {Influenster}

I received my first VoxBox from Influenster on Tuesday.  I was surprised I was going to receive the College VoxBox, seeing as I am currently not a college student, but I was curious and excited all the same.

I was surprised by how small the package was...and it had no logos or anything on it.  It was just a plain white box.  I don't know what I was expecting, but certainly something more.

I opened the box and discovered five items:

  • ImPress Press-On Maniure
  • NYC New York Color Show Time Glitter Eye-liner Pencil
  • Necco Tropical Wafers
  • Pentel EnerGel-X Campaign
  • Energy Sheets

College VoxBox

Over the next week or so, I will post about the items I received. ^_^As you can see from my photo above, I already tried the did my Mom and daughter.  Haha!

Have you received a VoxBox?  If so, what did you get to try out?

Friday Letters

Dear Sparky: I am sorry we have that thing in our front yard that makes a noise only you, cats, and small children can hear.  We are sick of the cats pooping right under our front window and it is the only thing that seems to work.  Hang in there, my boy.  I love you.

Dear Danika: I love your photos from picture day!  They came out so amazing. ^_^  On another note: you are just too damn young to have the attitude and talking back that you have.  Seriously.  I don't even know what to do about it anymore - nothing works.  I hope you grow out of it quick because I am so worn out from it.

Dear SailorMoon: It was so cool watching you in my home again!  Thanks to my daughter, I got to bust you out and partake in the viewing of one of your movies.  Awesome.  Took me back to my high school days when I was obsessed with all things SailorMoon.

Dear Election: Thank goodness you are over with!  I am sick to death of all the political commerials, shows, calls, flyers in my mailbox, random strangers showing up at my front door, and all the bullshit on Facebook.  I understand that people can voice their opinions and I respect that, but when it comes down to a pissin' contest it means it is time to STOP.

Happy Friday!

I was introduced to a website called Influenster by my blogger friend Kate.  She posted about it on her blog and sent me an invite via e-mail.  I was ecstatic to see an invite awaiting me in my inbox - thank you, Kate! ^_^

If you don't know what it is about, here is the break down:

Influenster is a free-to-join community of invited trendsetters who live to give opinions of products and experiences. Influenster creates links between brands and members to reward participation and influence future products.

An exclusive online community where tastemakers and trendsetters (such as yourself) come to share the latest and greatest news, places, products, and reviews with each other. 2. The hotspot you just bookmarked on your web browser that turns your social influence into sweet rewards.

Basically, Influenster is a place for culture junkies to come together and share their unique opinions of products and experiences. Active members of Influenster get exclusive access to deals, promotions, and swag from brands that thrive off the input (the good, the bad, and the ugly -- they just want to know what's up).

Sounds amazing, right?  Well, I have been reviewing, answering questions, and taking surveys as much as I can.  I have basically stuck to two categories right now: sweets and Motherhood!  What a great combo, huh?

I received an e-mail asking me to answer a few questions for a VoxBox.  I am hoping I am qualified!  I would love to receive a VoxBox and review the items not only here, but on Influenster as well.

Check it out!  If you are interested, let me know and I can send you an invite.

Picture Day!

Friday, October 26 was picture day at preschool.  I volunteered to help out.  I got there around eight in the morning and didn't leave until nearly one.  I had a lot of fun helping out the photographer, meeting my daughter's classmates, and chatting with any of the teachers that brought the kiddos into the room.

Danika took her photos last and I got a chance to jump in on one of them! ^_^

I love all the photos!  And I compared them to last years and about died at how much she has grown.  She doesn't have the "baby face" anymore. >_<

The purple background really made her eyes pop!

The cool part of volunteering is that the preschool is paying for my photo package!  I think that is fantastic and am so very happy!  I chose the photos I want to keep and have to take the rest back by Monday.  Overall, I am happy with the way the photos turned out and proud of my girl for always being ready to smile for the camera.  I guess having a camera in your face since you were born helped...LOL!

I am planning to create a wall collage of frames someday soon.  I'm waiting for the extra money to pop up out of thin air or grow on that tree in our backyard...

Fall Bucket List {Revisited}

I decided to revisit my Bucket List for Fall.  I know I have accomplished a few of the items, but I haven't looked back to see which ones.

Go to the pumpkin patch
PJ Walk
Make four Fall crafts
Go trick-or-treating
Pony rides
Petting zoo
Decorate the house for Halloween
Pick apples
Take photos when the leaves change

I have seen the leaves have begun to change and I keep findind some beautiful potienal snapshots, but I haven't stopped to do it yet! >_<

I don't know if we will get out to pick apples this Fall or not - the hubby and I are still throwing that idea around, so we shall see.

And a pj walk, well, it just never seems to work out quite right.

I am glad I have been able to do most of the items on my list. ^_^

Did you (do you) have a bucket list for Fall?  If so, have you been able to accomplish anything yet?

Friday Letters

Dear Sandy (the Superstorm): I get it.  I mean, you are part of weather and not exactly controllable, but damn.

Dear East Coast: I am terribly sorry for what Sandy did to you.  I am sorry for the loss of life, for the wreckage, for the mass damage that has been caused on so many levels.  I am sorry for the slow way our government seems to react to situations for those in our OWN country.  It is horrible that certain people/places/situations are placed above others in terms of help.  It sickens me and breaks my heart.  Everyone deserves the same amount of help and the more dire problems deserve the attention first and foremost.

Dear Rain: Thank you for waiting until well after the trick-or-treating hours to start.

Dear Danika: Why can't you sleep in the morning?  Why do you continue insisting on being awake by 5:45 every morning lately?

Dear Sparky: It looks like you have found our closet a safe haven as well (thanks, Casey, haha!).

Dear Danika (again): I know this isn't entirely your fault, baby girl, really sucks that the top of your head collided with my forehead this morning.  I feel so weird from it.  My head is still hurting and I am sure I will have a nice bruise.

Happy Friday!

Sorry I have been MIA - I came down with a cold on Friday (hence no Friday Letters last week) and have been slowly getting better.  Dealing with a four-year-old who has been sick as well, plus getting up between 5-5:45 every morning for the last two weeks is wearing very thin on everyone in this house.  Sigh.  Nothing we do works and I know I am beyond my wits end concerning it.

Halloween has come and gone.  It felt like Halloween evening it took forever for it to get dark enough to begin trick-or-treating and once it was and we started, well, we were only out for about an hour.  The time flies while you are out walking your neighborhood, I tell ya!

Danika did great!  I had to go up to a few doors for her as she was scared, but beyond that, she was amazing.

She dressed up as Rapunzel, blonde wig and all, and she actually kept it all the entire time we were out!

When we got back from trick-or-treating I asked my Mom to take a photo of D and I out in front of our house...while she did we got a backlog of trick-or-treaters coming up the walk behind my Mom.  Danika told them, "Hold on a minute, trick-or-treaters!"  LOL.  My Mom and I died, as did the grown-ups who were nearby.

I carved our pumpkin this year...I have never done it before.  Sure, I have scooped out the insides every year, but I have never gotten to actually put the knife into it and made a face.  I think I did pretty well, considering.

D didn't help me scoop...LOL

Decorating her own lil' pumpkins
We took a few photos in the house before D and I ventured around our neighborhood to get some candy!  It is the only time that is it deemed "okay" to receive candy from strangers.

Lil' Rapunzel

Ga'aw & Rapunzel

I only took one photo of Danika while trick-or-treating.  I was way into the moment and completely forgot I was lugging the camera in my pocket.  Oh well.

Sparky with our pumpkin

I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween.  I am saddened for those affected by the Superstorm Sandy on the East Coast and the children who were not permitted to participate this year.

I have to share some of the funniest things!  I have literally laughed out loud at most of these!

I would love to do this!

Seriously, it works!  LOL

Cramps suck

Yup, I do this
